Blue Diamond Cafe @ Old Xaverians Association

Thinking of trying something different for dinner..? How bout dinner at a bar? LOLx..Blue Diamond is actually a Restaurant..but it looks like a Bar to me..the ambiance is awesome..I found out about this place through The Star and immediately that night I went to try it..!

Lets take a look at the place before we head on to the food..!

Main Entrance and Corridor


I love the lightings, but somehow they seem to be spoiling my pictures..! I had a hard time taking pictures of the food due to the lightings..Everyone was eating when I was still snapping the food..! LOLx..

The spoon looks like it is glowing..! Ugh..I seriously had a hard time taking pictures in this restaurant..thou the lightings are awesome and nice..Somehow..it doesn't go well with the pictures I have taken for the food..

Ahh..well..enough with all the ambiance and lightings..lets work our taste buds..!

Mushroom Soup


We all ordered the Set Menu, which consists of Mushroom Soup, Main Course of your choice, Ice Lemon Tea for the drinks and Desserts..All the sets ranged from RM10.90 to RM13.90, so it is generally affordable..!

The Mushroom soup tasted good and creamy..and lots of mushroom chunks in it..One thing good is...the mushroom soup is served hot..!

Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Turkey Ham

Mum ordered the Aglio Olio for her Main Course..Spaghetti Aglio Olio is normally served with Olive Oil and as for this Dish..it is cooked with Chillies, Turkey Ham and Mushrooms..
Mum said it was not bad...but a little oilier than usual..

The Spaghetti Aglio Olio Set costs RM 10.90.. 

Grilled Fish

Here's what I had for my main course..The Grilled Fish comes with Mashed Potatoes, Vegetables and Tartare Sauce..

Personally I didnt really like the fish..but the Tartare Sauce was good..! LOLx..and the mashed potatoes was even better than expected..=)

Grilled Chicken Chop

Jye joined us for dinner that night..and he ordered the Grilled Chicken Chop for his main course..The Chicken Chop is served with creamy Tomatoes and Onion Dressing as well as French Fries and Vegetables..

He didn't really enjoy his main course thou..as he said the batter doesn't taste good even though it is crispy..but I do like the dressing thou..LOLx..

A set of Grilled Chicken Chop will cost RM 13.90.. 

Banana Fritters


Seriously..I was shocked when this was served for desserts..LOLx..I didn't know it was the dessert until my mum told me about it..Erm..the banana fritters was not bad..as the batter was crispy and tasty..but somehow serving banana fritters for dessert seems "funny and weird" to me..haha..


Overall, dinner was good..the ambience is nice and you can head on upstairs for a Karaoke Session too after dinner which is located just above the restaurant ( entrance through the restaurant ) .. 
But if you are not in the mood for singing..then just chill at the bar or watch some football matches especially now during the World Cup season and have a beer with your friends..!!

Blue Diamond also cater for in-house functions and birthday or company gatherings for RM25 onwards per pax..

Directions :

Located at the access road which connects Lorong Aman to the Pulau Tikus Main Road ( Behind Burmah House ), the Cafe occupies the the building that was formerly the home to the Old Xaverians' Association..
There is a Blue Diamond Club signage which will be noticed between the multi-storey office block of Burmah House and the double storey row of Shophouses that houses the CIMB Bank and Baskin Robbins

This restaurant is now under new management. It now serves dim sum and noodles.
