Restaurant Famosa [ Chicken Rice Ball ]

As we Arrived at Jonker Walk on our Day Two trip to Malacca..We decided to head for lunch at the Famous Chicken Rice Ball which is served at the Restaurant Famosa..


I never thought I would be having Rice after having cakes..!! And I remember I gained 1KG after I came back from Kuala Lumpur..!!

Finally we reached the Restaurant..which is located almost at the end of Jonker Walk..I have heard of the famous Chicken Rice Ball..but it was my first time tasting it myself..I was kind of excited..!

There were menus provided for first timers like us..!!

Steamed Chicken with Rice Ball

Me and Phui Leng shared a plate of Steamed Chicken with Rice Ball..since we both were quite full from having cakes earlier on during that day..The Steamed Chicken comes with 5 rice balls..which is equivalent to a bowl of rice..or perhaps more..as the the rice is compact into balls..and it is slightly sticky too..Perfect for those who are hungry..as it is quite filling..A plate of the Steamed Chicken with Rice Balls will cost only RM4.60..

As for Sandra, She ordered the Roasted Chicken with Rice Balls..which also have 5 rice balls..It would costs the same for the Roasted Chicken which is RM4.60..

Me and Phui Leng decided to share a Tomyam Cabbage..since we both are sharing only one plate of Chicken Rice Balls..A plate of this will only cost RM7.00..

Chendul

One of the famous Chendul which is sold at the Restaurant at Jonker Walk..Wanna know why it is so famous..? Because of the brown sugar I'm guessing..it tasted slightly different from other Chendul Sellers'..This one seems to taste sweeter and the Pandan aroma is stronger too...! A bowl of this will cost RM3.00..


Drinks


As for drinks..Me, Phui Leng and Sandra ordered the same drink..the Herbal Tea..As for Mun yee and Xk..they shared a can of 100 Plus..
The Herbal Tea will cost RM2.00 per cup..I did not manage to get the price for the 100 Plus though..

Nadeje Cake House @ Malacca

As form the posting above..I mentioned about the Nadeje Cake House which is famous for its Thousand Layer Cakes..!! Sandra was the one who recommended us the Cake House..and she even told us she wouldn't mind travelling all the way from Puchong to Malacca for the Cakes..!!

We reached the place around 12.15PM..and as I looked at the main entrance of the cake house..I got so excited..and Hungry..!!

Gift Boxes


There were many designs of gift boxes on display..which is probably sold to customers who would like to buy it as a gift for friends or family.. 
Pardon the reflections of the glass in the picture..as it was so bright..and crowded..I find it difficult to capture a good picture..

Huge Champagne Bottle


Spotted this huge champagne bottle which is on the floor beside the counter..with a hanging sign of "OPEN"

Here's a table for two..Perfect for couples who would like to have a romantic tea time..!

Located at the end of the Cake House..there is a sofa for those who loves to rest and relax while enjoying their cakes..!

I've decided to order the Original Slice of Layer Cake, which is also their Signature Cake at Nadeje..!! 
I would say..it is simply delicious..!! The cream which is among the layer cakes..tasted so fresh and creamy..and the top layer of the cake..tasted almost like burned sugar and caramel which is normally used for Creme Brulee..


I would say..it is as if I'm having a Creme Brulee Cake..!! Lovely..!
One piece the Original Slice will cost only RM8.50!! Definitely worth the price..

Berry Strawberry

Sandra said..this is her favourite cake..the Berry Strawberry which she would drive to Malacca for..
Again..another one which tasted simply delicious..!! The berries and strawberries on the top of the cake..makes it taste slightly sweet and sour..making the cake more edible compared to mine..and the fresh cream which is topped at the end of the cake..tasted milky and creamy..!

Cafe Au Lait

As for Phui Leng..this is what she ordered..
I did not have a chance to try the Cafe Au Lait..as I was too busy eating mine..!! LOLx..
However, there is a strong coffee smell to it..and for those coffee lovers..I would recommend you to order the Cafe Au Lait and it will cost only RM8.50 per slice..


Mango Yogurt

Mun Yee ordered the Mango Yogurt which she shared with her Boyfriend..
I would say most of the cakes at Nadeje tasted delicious..!! Same goes to the Mango Yogurt..which also tasted slightly sweet and sour at the topped as it is covered with Mango toppings..!!
For the Mango Yogurt..it will cost RM9.00 per slice..

As for me..I ordered the Royal Milk Tea as I would prefer to have hot drinks when I have cakes..! However the Royal Milk Tea would taste better if it is slightly sweeter..

Reminiscence of Old Memories @ Kuala Lumpur [ Day One (1) ]

Last week on the 28th of August 2010 ( Saturday ), Me and my dear friend Evon or better known as Phui Leng took a trip to Kuala Lumpur to meet our long time best friend Cassandra, who just left for New Zealand Last Tuesday ( 31st August 2010 ) and also another friend of ours, Mun Yee..
I suggested taking the airplane, as it was safer especially during the 7th Lunar Month on the Chinese calendar which marks the Hungry Ghost Festival..


It was both our second time taking the plane..We were both young when we had our first flight, so we were excited during the second time..
We took the 1455 flight which departs from Penang International Airport on Saturday..

Actually we took a picture of the plane after the arrival..the plane which took us to Kuala Lumpur was the AK5363..!!

Here's a view from the place where I was seated..which was facing directly the wings of the aircraft..As you can see..we are still at the airport awaiting passengers to board the plane..


Phui Leng and Me


I was busy snapping pictures around the plane..and I decided to have one with Phui Leng..! Look at our smiles..you can tell we were excited to go to KL..

On Air


Look..! We are on air now..High above the clouds..We can barely see any land..What I love about this picture is that..I was able to capture the unique designs of clouds..


Upon our arrival after about 40minutes, Sandra came to picked us up..together with Pooi Sin..and her dog..=) She was on time to picked us up..and we head on to her house to refresh ourselves..Then we contact Mun Yee..who suggested we go to Munakata Restaurant for Dinner..!! So off we go..

Finally we reached Munakata Japanese Restaurant after about half hour of travelling..

Basic Table Settings


We settled down at a table for six..However, there were only five of us, Sandra, Me, Phui Leng, Mun Yee and her boyfriend XK..

Cute Ocha Cup


The Ocha ( Green Tea ) Cup..looks so cute and delicate..it looks the same as the dhobi mushi bowl for soup..

Chawan Mushi


We decided to order almost everything on the menu..as there were limited choices..which goes up to around 30+ choices..and the first one to arrive was the Chawan Mushi which are made up of Steamed Eggs..

Kakiage


Kakiage's are mixed vegetables which are fried in Crispy batter..One of my favourite..!

Umaki Tamago


Umaki Tamago is made up of Grilled Unagi with cooked Egg..This dish did not really attract my attention, but Phui Leng said the Tamago tasted too sweet..


Yakitori


The next one would be the Yakitori, which are Grilled Skewered Chicken with Yakitori Sauce..tasted slightly sweet and salty..but it would be better if the chicken are slightly more tender..

Hotate No Butter Shoyu Yaki


Here's a dish which I would recommend to my readers..Grilled Scallops with Butter and Soya Sauce..the butter which accompanied the Scallops makes the dish smells good and it tasted delicious too..! Another one of my favourites..!

Salmon Sashimi


Salmon Sashimi ( Up Closed )


I can't remember the amount of times we ordered the Salmon Sashimi..But I guess it was around 6-7 times..I can say that this is everyone's favourite dish..!
The Salmons are fresh..and it does not smell fishy at all..

Shishamo


Shishamo is actually grilled smelt fish..which is also known as pregnant fish..It comes with two fishes per portion..
Not really my cup of tea..as I remembered tasting Shishamo once,and I didn't like it..same goes to Phui Leng..
However, Sandra and Mun Yee loves it..

Seafood Salad


Phui Leng ordered the Seafood Salad as she felt like having vegetables..

Soft Shell Crab Tempura


Ahh..Here's another dish that I would recommend to my readers..the Soft Shell Crab Tempura..Soft Shell Crab has always been my favourite..and the one which is served at Munakata..tasted fresh..however, it would be better if it is slightly crispier..

Wakame Salad


I didn't notice that Sandra order the Wakame Salad till it arrived..
Wakame Salad is made up of Seaweeds and sprinkled with sesame seeds..

Tempura Moriawase


For those who loves tempura..the Tempura Moriawase will be the right dish to order..it comes with Two Prawn Tempuras, Pumpkin Tempuras, and Brinjal tempura..

Unagi Kabayaki


I believe this is one of the popular dishes which will be ordered by many customers..
Unagi Kabayaki is made up of Grilled Eel with sweet sauce..
One of the dish which is worth ordering..

Yakinasu No Nikumiso Kake


Phui Leng said she felt like having brinjals after watching a cooking programme on tv at Sandra's place before going to Muanakata...So she ordered the Grilled Brinjals whcih is topped off with minced meat and soya bean paste..

Enoki No Gyuniku Maki


It was my first time having Enoki with beef..as normally it was wrapped up with bacon strips..
However, this dish above..The Enoki is wrapped up in Grilled sliced Beef rolls and accompanied with sweet sauce..
Simply delicious..!! 

Grilled Cod Fish


We ordered the grilled Cod Fish around 4-5 times..as Sandra said she loves the Cod Fish..I agreed with her..as the fish tasted fresh..and it smells so good..
Thumbs up..!!

Edamame


Edamame are actually steamed green peas..which are sprinkled with sea salts before serving..
Perfect for snacking..!!

Nigiri Sushi


Nigiri Sushi is made up of Vinegared Rice ball topped off with Fresh Sliced of Salmon..
This one will be more filling compared to the Salmon Sahimi as it is accompanied with rice..

Green Tea Ice Cream


It's dessert time..!! And we had the Green Tea ice Cream which is topped off with Red Beans..
There is also another choice of Ice Cream for desserts which is Vanilla..


It will cost RM80.50 Nett per pax..
