Dinner at Midland Court

Few days ago..we went for dinner at Midland Court Restaurant which is located at One Stop, Penang..The Restaurant has been there since the Opening of One Stop Shopping Centre..So it is one of the oldest shops in the building..!

Midland Court is famous for Wedding functions..and Annual Dinner functions..The food there is amazing..and the Service is good as the waiters and waitresses are all friendly..and most of the time you will bumped into the Owner, who still looks healthy in his Sixties..! Friendly and nice guy!

Stir - Fried Napa Leaves

The stir - fried napa leaves are also known as "Nai Pai" in Mandarin or "Nai Pak" in Cantonese..this is one of my favourite vegetables..as it tasted sweet when it is cooked..The Napa Leaves comes with flat fish which is crispy after a deep fried..Yum..

This is a unique dish..and Mum said its healthy for woman who just gave birth.. Anyway..the chicken taste good..and I think its something different from what we normally order such as Mango Chicken or Sour Plum Chicken which is deep fried..

Well..Stir fried is always healthier..

The beancurd comes wtih minced meat, chopped shitake mushrooms, spring onions and small pieces of Salted fish..Mmm..personally this is one of my favourite dishes..The sauce is the best and the mushrooms are not bitter as some Shitake Mushrooms can be bitter as they have medicinal values..

Don't forget the Salted fish..they go well with the beancurds and rice..

I cant say this is a unique dish...but somehow people seldom order Kai-Lan with Sambal, as normally Sambal goes along with Convolvulus ( Eng Chai / Kangkung ), I didn't expect Kai-Lan to be good when it is cooked with Sambal, but surprisingly..is tasted good and the Stems are juicy and Crispy too..!

Many Chinese Restaurants do serve this dish..There are artificial Shark Fins and Genuine Shark Fins..It is cooked with Eggs and Vegetables such as Carrots..It can be taken with rice but it is recommended to be wrapped in Cabbage Leaves as it will be tastier..! Quite a unique dish..!

Sweet and Sour Fish

This is one of my favourite dishes..I love fish..and I love it more with sweet and sour sauce..! The Sweet and Sour Fish comes with bell peppers, onions and tomatoes..It smells and taste good..and it goes well with the Steam rice..! Yummy..

Soya Bean 

Ahh..Dessert time..Tasty Soya Bean!! The dessert is Free Of Charge and it is served at the end of our meal..Mum loves the Soya Bean lots...and I actually like it too..the Soya Bean is smooth in texture and there are lots of Ginko nuts in it..*slurp* ..Do you know that Ginko Nuts are good for the human body..? =)

Overall..I had a great dinner..!! Thank God for the amazing food..! Amen.

Xuan Xin Ramen Kitchen

My dear Readers, Visitors and Followers, My postings will be as often as usual..as My Exam is around the corner and its time to get busy..! So please be patient and stay with me..=) Hugz to you guys..!

Tonight its only me and My Mum for dinner..! Been so long since the both of us go for dinner together..We thought for a while and finally decided to go for Xuan Xin Ramen Kitchen, and since it was raining, we have no where else to go..!

Xuan Xin Ramen Kitchen is located at Gurney Plaza's Basement Area ( Old Wing ) - Which is just opposite the ATM Machines and escalator..

If I'm not wrong..its a Subsidiary of Xuan Xin Chinese Cuisine Restaurant which is also located at Gurney Plaza ( Fourth Floor - New Wing )..

The table settings are exactly the same as the Xuan Xin Restaurant located at the Gurney New Wing Outlet..

There are Chinese Wordings printed on the wallpaper..it reminds me of those ancient Chinese Scribbles on Scrolls in China..Nice..=)

Mum ordered the Prawn and Crabmeat Ramen cause she saw many people having it as well..Actually it tasted like our Malaysian Hokkien Mee but the difference is that there is crab meat other than prawns..A bowl of this will cost RM12.80..

As for me..this is what I had for dinner..this reminded me of a dish served in Wong Kok which also comes with Minced Meat and Mushrooms..However this is slightly different, the mushrooms are much bigger and the Minced Meat is tastier..! =) The Ramen with Mushrooms and Minced Meat costs only RM11.80 per bowl..

Drinks

Mum ordered the Herbal Tea which is actually Wong Lo Kat - RM3.00, Last time Mum used to buy a Half Dozen of Wong Lo Kat for us to drink..! LOL..
As for me..I had the Soya Bean which costs only RM2.50..Yummy..I love Soya Bean..=) 

A great meal for me and my Mum..!

24 at SIXTY9INE Mansion and Pizza Hut

Few days ago, 10th of May 2010, It was my friend Cheng Wei's birthday..So we decided to meet up after quite some time..Cheng Wei suggested we go to Pizza Hut for dinner first..!

So I took a few pictures when we the food arrived..but I wondered if anyone is full that night..there is only one large pizza and a regular pizza...and Four Guys and A Girl..? Hmm..Looks like we are all trying to lose weight..! LOL..

Let's look at those food..!

 
 Mushroom Soup

I remember we ordered a Set Meal for 6 Pax..but I can't remember the name of the set..LOL..I was so hungry and thirsty..So I did not do any of the order...The mushroom soup was not bad..it would be nicer if its slightly creamier..!

Pepsi

Not a big fan of Carbonated Drinks..but the Set comes with two jugs of Pepsi..So I have no choice..=) as I was thirsty..!!

Breadstix

Yum..I always love those breadstix from Pizza Hut..No idea why..haha..perhaps because of the butter and taste of onion..!!

Island Supreme

Everytime I visit Pizza Hut or when I order a take away, this is the first topping which comes to my mind..! The Island Supreme..!! Yummy..because I love thousand island sauce..!!

We actually did order another Large Pizza, but I dont remember what Pizza..LOL..I was so busy eating I forgot to ask my friends what Pizza they ordered..!!

So after dinner..we decided to go to SIXTY9INE Mansion which I finally get to take more pictures of the place since the last time I went..!! So lets take a look at a few pictures..Some of the pictures are too dark..so I had no choice but to exclude them..!

I don't know why but I love this picture..Perhaps its because of the green lightings which flashes on the deck chairs when I was taking the shot..! What a coincidence..! All the guys was suggesting we sit there..Haha..I don't get it why they are so excited..I believe the water is dirty..(Sorry no offence 69) but just imagine how many people soaked their feet in there??

Just imagine those people with dirty or muddy feet!! Eww..The last time I went..the water looks dirty to me..as people wore their slippers and sandals in it..So can you imagine how dirty it is..?

Happy Mummy Day!! ♥

Yeah I know..I'm two days late in my posting!! LOL..thanks for being patient..as I was busy with classes and studies..and late night outings too..=) So here it is for my one and only Mummy..


So what did you get your Mum for Mother's Day? Well..I got my Mum Fridge Magnets!! LOL..yeah I know it looks so simple and small..but its SINCERE..and it looks cute too.. Buying expensive gifts are not necessary, unless you have some extra cash to spend..=)


When I gave My Mum, I said its something small, and hope she likes it..then she replied that its alright..as long its sincere..it does not have to be big or expensive..=)

I'm so happy to hear mum said that..!


Actually Mum's birthday and mother's day is in the same month..So usually I will buy a gift and give it to her for both occasions..=p..

So where did we go to for dinner..?

Chicago Rib House

Chicago Rib House is located at Gurney Plaza Ground Floor - beside Dome Cafe ( Previously Manila Place Restaurant ) which is a newly opened Restaurant serving all American Western Style Cuisine..!! 

We decided to go for dinner and give it a try..and as predicted...no regrets!!

The Bar is located opposite the entrance, I like the interior of the restaurant..but the place was too crowded and I did not manage to take more pictures..Maybe some other time..=)

The Soup of the Day varies everyday..So do ask the server for the day's selection when you dine in..! 

The day we went..they served the Chicken Noodles Soup, it comes with vegetables and slices of noodles for only RM5.90.. 

Deep Fried Mushrooms

The deep fried mushrooms are compliments from Chicago Rib House in conjunction of their Opening on the 4th of May 2010..

The Fresh Mushrooms are deep fried with Crispy Batter and served with Honey Mustard Dressing..!! I must say..the dressing is so GOOD!! I even had my fish with the same dressing..!! Yummy..

The price after the promotion will be RM10.90 per plate.. 

Oriental Salad

Mummy ordered the Oriental Salad for her main course ( although its an appetizer ), as she is having the Salad with the Soup of the Day..

The Oriental Salad comes with Fresh Chopped Asian Greens tossed with Sesame and Ginger Dressing as well as Diced Red Peppers, Coriander, Fried Wonton Noodles and Sesame Seeds and it comes with a choice of :

- Grilled or Fried Chicken for RM15.90
- Grilled Salmon for RM17.90

Mum chose the Grilled Salmon, and normally I'm not a big fan of Grilled or Cooked Salmon, as I prefer Fresh or Smoked, but this one tasted good..!! Something different about it..perhaps its the dressing..and I'm surprised myself that I like it..!! ♥ 


Grilled Blackened Catch

As for me..I'm in the mood for something fishy..so I ordered the Grilled Blackened Catch..

The Grilled Blackened Catch is a fresh catch of the day grilled with Blackened Seasoning ( which tasted like Black Pepper to me ) and served with French Fries and Fresh Vegetables with a Quarter slice of Lemon for only RM18.90..

I think its good..but it would have been better if its slightly saltier..! =)

Chicken BBQ Sandwich

You know..on first sight..the Slices of chicken looked like squids to me..!! LOL..

The Chicken BBQ Sandwich is a shredded and Slow-Roasted Chicken which is served with Carolina Honeys ( Homemade Sauce ) BBQ Sauce, it comes with fresh vegetables like tomatoes and lettuce as well as French Fries for only RM15.90..

My opinion..? Good..but would have been perfected if the Sauce is not too sweet..♥

Carrot Cake ( Mini Desserts )

Carrot Cakes has always been Mum's favourite..! And as expected that was what she ordered for her desserts..!

It is called the mini desserts because the serving is roughly palm-sized..

With a round shape, it is topped of with Caramelized Sugar and nuts for only RM6.90..

Ice Cream Puff ( Mini Desserts )


This is a STEAL!! and its PERFECT..!! Yummy..To me..its the best thing we had ordered that night..=)

It is almost like a normal cream puff custard, but this one comes with Vanilla Ice Cream and drizzled with Thick Chocolate Syrup..!! Oh..I'm drooling right now..*Pardon Me*..

For only RM6.90 you can have this amazing delicacy..! Serriously a STEAL! 


 Fruity Breeze


In Conjunction of Mother's Day on the 9th of May 2010, the Restaurant is giving out free Mocktails which is the Fruity Breeze to all Ladies especially Mothers! So me and Mummy get a free glass of beverage each..!! So we need not order any drinks..!

Love the Mocktail..it is almost like a Fruity Soda except there is a mixture of Pineapples, Mangoes and Oranges..! * Lip Smacking* 

Promotion ends on 10th of May!

 Hoegaarden Beer


Hoegaarden is a Mexican-American Beer..and we were taught to drink it with Orange peels..as that is how the Mexicans drink their beer..!!

Not my kind of beer..but Some people just love it..! =)

Anyway you are probably wondering why there were no RIBS or Steaks? Well..we were not up for Steaks on that day..but perhaps the next visit..=)
