Miles Away From Home @ Singapore 2010 - Day Three(3) Dinner at Marche

On the fourth day which is also the final day we were in Singapore..we met up with Jye's cousin Siew Wing at her house..She then took us to ION Orchard again by bus to have our lunch..

After looking around for a while..we decided to go to a restaurant called Meatworks..

Meatworks Entrance

The restaurant has sort of a urban jungle theme..

Bar

Bar Counter

Soup of the Day

Me and Dear..ordered a bowl of soup to share among the both of us before our main course as we were both famished during that time..

Mini Garlic Breads

The soup of the day comes with mini garlic breads and it will only cost SGD8.00 per bowl..

Meatworks Special

Jye ordered the Meatworks Special as his main course..it is actually a beef burger which is made up of vegetables, beef patty and various type of dressings..
The burger also comes with a side salad and french fries..and all for only SGD18.00..
The burger tasted great to me..but it would be better if the beef is slightly more tender..

Lamb Rack

As for me..I was torn between the beef and lamb..but at that time..I was actually craving for lamb..hence..I ordered the Lamb Rack..
The lamb rack is tender in terms of texture..and it is accompanied with mint sauce which is also one of my favourite dressing for lambs..along with it..was the mashed potatoes as a sideline and assorted vegetables..
Simply delicious..and the lamb rack costs only SGD 32.00..

Salmon el Funghi

Jye's cousin, Siew Wing joined us for lunch during that day..and Jye said it was his treat..so Siew Wing ordered a plate of Salmon el Funghi which is actually Salmon Pasta..
cooked with herbs and mushrooms..the pasta tasted simple and delicious..
A plate of the Salmon el Funghi costs SGD 20.00..

Hanging Tender

For Phui Leng..she decided to have some beef as well..and go for the Hanging Tender..which is actually imported beef..I'm not sure what dressing it comes with..but it is also accompanied with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables..
The beef has a very tasty taste..but again it would be better if it is slightly more tender..
The hanging tender costs around SGD 26.00

The Silver Cod

As for Darren..he opted for something healthier..the cod fish..it is also accompanied with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables..and a plate of it will costs only SGD30.00..I would say it is consider cheap for a cod fish...

Creme Brulee

Finally after our main course..me and dear decided to have some dessert as we were craving for something sweet after our lunch..hence..we ordered the creme brulee..

Creme Brulee is actually both our favourite dessert..and it comes with strawberry slices as toppings as well as rapsberry and blueberries along side as a decoration...and it costs us around SGD8.00 per serving..

Fruit Punch

Phui Leng ordered the fruit punch to share it with Darren..which costs only SGD10.00..

Hot Mint Chocolate

As for me and dear..we decided to have some hot mint chocolate for our drinks..the hot mint chocolate was tasty but it would be better if it is slightly hotter..

After our lunch..we hanged out around Orchard Shopping malls..and did out last minute shopping...when we were done..we headed back to Jye's uncle's house to refresh ourselves..and head on for dinner..

Illegal Immigrants?

When we were done with our dinner..Jye's uncle fetched us using his van to the MRT station to take the train to Changi Airport..
we had to cramped ourselves behind the van..and it was narrow..and guess what we looked like...Illegal immigrants..!! LOLx..I remember when we were at the back of the van..we were all laughing non stop..as it was so crowded and we were all crushed together..

Changi Airport

It was my first time at Changi Airport..and I was totally amazed by the way the airport was decorated and presented to tourist as well as locals..the place was decorated with a jungle theme..and there is even a waterfall in the middle..!

Slide

There is even a slide in the airport for people of any age to use! From the top floor..you can use it to slide down to the lowest floor..cool..!

Leisure Area

There is a leisure area for passengers who would like to rest before their flights..and the seats are unique with the same of triangles..and the best is it has the view of the departure and arrival area of all the airplaes...

Dear and me

Jye's uncle offered to take a picture for us..with the christmas decorations behind us..

All of us

Again..his uncle offered to take another picture for us..look at Jye..he blinked when his uncle took the picture..! LOlx..

Jye and His Uncle

Now it was his turn to take with his uncle..Look at his uncle who smiles so happily..he is such a nice and kind man to help us and took us for a walk around the airport..

Huge Christmas Decorations

There were huge christmas decorations as we walked along..Somehow I silently wish our Penang or Malaysia Airport has the same spirit to decorate for the christmas occasion..

More Decorations

I'm guessing this decoration is there all along..the grass decorations looks so real..it is as if we are at a garden..

My Dear

Look at him..smiling so happily..it was a random shot though..
It was almost time..and we had to head on towards our airplane..and after boarding..we head on back to our hometown...PENANG..!

Miles Away From Home @ Singapore 2010 - Day Three(3) Chinatown Walk

During our third day in Singapore..we decided to have something expensive and delicious since it was our last night in Singapore..hence we picked one of our favourite restaurants since we the first day we arrived in Singapore.."Marche"..

On my previous post..regarding my first day in Singapore..I mentioned about Marche..but we did not have the chance to try out all the food..which is also the reason why we decided to go there again for our dinner..

Promotion Crepe

Promotion Crepe (Closed-Up)

Me and Jye decided to order our first meal which is the promotion crepe..I was attracted to the crepe since the first time I went to Marche..and what else would I choose for the topping..? SMOKED SALMON of course..!!

I chose the smoked salmon as our main topping..and it comes along with cheese and vegetables..and all of it will only cost SGD12.90..

Roasted Pork

Darren ordered the roasted pork which is shared among us..however, me and dear are not big fans of pork..hence we only ate a little of it..but one thing..I do love the crispy skin of the roasted pork..!

Potatoes and Brocollies

As for Phui Leng..she ordered a small bowl of Potatoes and Brocollies..it comes with lots of mushrooms..potatoes and brocollies..which actually tasted good as well as healthy..

Foot Long Sausage and Mash Potatoes

Darren's cousin joined us for dinner during that day..and she ordered the foot long sausage which comes along with mash potatoes wrapped in aluminium foil..

I should have ordered a plate of this..cause it tasted so good..She was so kind to shared it with us..

Fettucini Carbonara

Darren added on another plate of Fettucini Carbonara for his main course..I must say this is also one of the best dish I tasted in Marche..
Although it doesn't look as good as it taste..I can assure you..that it is very tasty and creamy..I do not know if there are other ingredients in it besides turkey ham..but for sure..if i ever visit any Marche outlet..I will order the Carbonara for my main course..!!

Ribeye Steak

Now here comes another of my favourite dish..the Ribeye steak..! Me and dear have been eye-ing the steak since we first went to Marche..and I did not regret ordering it..

It was so tender..and juicy..the steak was grilled to perfection..and it was medium rare..!! The ribeye steak costs only SGD19.90 and I must say..to me..it is totally worth it..to have such a well cooked steak with that price..

Bread and Butter Pudding

For dessert..me and phui leng decided to walked around and find something delicious..and we finally ordered the bread and butter pudding..I wanted to order two bowls..but I thought..it was better to order one and give it a try before ordering more..

In the end..it was only one bowl..I would not say that it is not delicious..but it tasted too creamy..and perhaps too sweet...? Still..I think it tasted good..and it was worth a try..

Fresh Oyster

We thought it was the end..till Phui Leng..ordered the fresh oyster to give it a try..She said..she couldn't resist the temptation..LOLx..However, it was only one piece as she wanted to try it only..

Root Beer

As for drinks..Darren ordered the root beer..which is actually as good as the A&W Root Beer..LOLx..me and Jye did order two glasses of drinks..but I did not take any picture of it..

After dinner..it was time to meet up with our dear friends, Rachel and Elizabeth..they were suppose to meet us for dinner..but they were lost on the way to Orchard Road..!! LOLx..they wanted to have dinner..and since it was late..we picked a restaurant which is opened 24 hours..!!

Peppermint Tea

Since, we just finished our dinner..me and jye decided to have some tea instead..and we ordered the Peppermint tea..which is good and soothing for our throats and body..

The Three of Us!

Finally its picture time..!! Of course we have to take some pictures..What are the odds that the four of us will be meeting at a restaurant in Singapore..and talked about the past?

Phui Leng and Rachel

I seldom see this two taking pictures together..so this is a really memorable picture..!

Eliz and Me

Been a long time since we both took a picture together..and look at her..smiling so happily..

Friend Forever!

Finally..the four of us took a picture together when we were about to part..

The Four of Us Again!

Again another one last one before we leave..it took us a few shots before getting a perfect one..LOLx..

Jye and Darren

Lastly..we took a picture of those two guys..looking at something above them..looking underneath some girl's skirt or perhaps underneath the christmas tree...? LOLx..but it was nice shot..totally random..

It was around 2.00AM..and we decided to call if off for the night..and head back to our hotel..!

Miles Away From Home @ Singapore 2010 - Day Two(2) Bugis and Orchard Hangout

It was Day Three (12th December 2010) in Singapore..in the morning..we headed back to Bugis for our breakfast and shopping as well..so there were no pictures taken during that time..

When we are done with shopping..We decided to visit Chinatown which is actually a place which can be found at most of the foreign countries..besides Malaysia..

Located close by to Clarke Quay..Chinatown portrays the olden days buildings which reminds us of the old china buildings..the place is filled with chinese cuisines..and all sorts of chinese antiques which also includes decorations and accessories..

A View of Chinatown Walk

Here's a view of the Chinatown walk..as you walk along..you will find that there are lots of shops and restaurants on your left and right..

Old Chinatown Buildings

The place was build with the old chinatown buildings concept..which gives you the feeling of being in old chinatown..except they are painted with colourful paints..

The Tintin Shop

The Tintin series was one of my favourite books..! I miss reading the tintin stories which are now seldom sold at book stores..

Entrance

Too bad we are not allowed to take any pictures in the shop..there are so many tintin merchandise which are for sale..they even have other characters such as Captain Haddock, the Thompson twins, Professor Calculus and of course not forgetting tintin's favourite pet dog, Snowy..

Old Chinatown Trishaw

Although its an old chinatown trishaw..they did a good job maintaining the looks of it..it looks so new..

Duty Free Products

Spotted this duty free products stall..which sells perfumes and cosmetics..I'm not sure if they are original or not though..which is why I did not buy anything from the stall..

Me and Phui Leng

We stopped for a break while the guys have some wafer ice cream..as we girls started taking pictures..

Chinatown Temple

As we walked on..I saw this huge Chinese Temple..however, we did not enter to take any pictures...although I like the design of the building..

Me and Dear

We took one last picture before leaving Chinatown..this picture above gives me the feeling of being in China..and I like it..!

From Chinatown, we headed back to Bugis Shopping mall where there are lots of restaurants at the basement..and we picked a restaurant called the Soup Spoon..

Beef Goulash

Me and dear shared a bowl of Beef goulash as we were both not that hungry..and besides I wanted to have something with soup..and we were both craving for beef..hence we ordered the beef goulash..! It comes with a bun and the beef was so tender..tasted so delicious..!! A bowl of the Beef goulash will only costs SGD7.20..

Chicken/Mushroom Soup?

i'm sorry, but I have forgotten what Phui Leng and Darren ordered..but its either chicken/mushroom soup..which comes with puff pastry and a side salad..

Vanilla Cream Puff

Dear wanted to try out the Puff From a stall called Beard Papa Sweets..what a unique name..so he ordered a vanilla puff which he shared with me..it tasted delicious..and it is about the size of my palm..!

Chocolate Cream Puff

As for Darren...he bought the Chocolate flavour puff to share it with Phui Leng..

Jye

Look at him..having his vanilla puff so happily..

After having our puffs..we headed back to our hotel..and had a good rest before going for dinner that night..
