Kek Lok Si Temple

This is the Kek Lok Si Temple which is located at Air Itam,Penang..Oh..I just love bright lightings on buildings which I can say I love cityscapes view..Kek Lok Si is one of Penang's famous tourist attraction..well..cant say only for tourist..as it attracts lots of locals as well..
They just completed the Pavillion for the Goddess of Mercy (Kuan Yin Ma) and it became one of the main attraction to tourists,locals and professional photographers..

Me,My Mum and My Dear went there on 17th of February ( 11th day of Chinese Lunar New year ) to check out the newly-build Pavillion and the whole place as well..There was quite a jam on the way there from Chung Ling High School..but it wasnt a slow crawl..as most of the cars are locals..I think on the first few days of Chinese New Year..the jam was held up to Dato' Kramat,which consist of people from outstaion,tourists and locals..So eventhough its on the 11th day of CNY,there is still traffic jam caused by locals..

It was a memorable trip there..and as a true Penangite..you must at least visit Kek Lok Si once in your lifetime..LOLx..So enjoy the rest of the pictures..♥

Just reached and took the first picture of the Goddess of Mercy with my W705i camera..Clear? Hehe..

Pavillion Stairway

This is the stairway leading to the Goddess of Mercy..We are now on our way to the Pavillion..Just imagine they have all these lightings along the stairs and buildings..how colourful and bright..lovely..!

Carpark and Penang View

Purposely took this picture on the way up to the Kuan Yin Pavillion, just to show the number of crowd and cars..haha..see that there are cars turning round and round searching for a place..and we are lucky to find one after just one round..LOLx..I like the Penang View behind it..We can even see Komtar which looks so small from the Pavillion..

Tree of Wishes

Those Red and Yellow Strips of Papers are wishes and prayers written on it..I think it is a way of telling or making wishes to the God and hoping their prayers are answered..I saw many people writing on it..Some of them are Indians..I did not write any though..I think the paper strips will be charged for each strip..but I think it looks nice when it is hanged like a tree..and the Lime tree below it compliments the colours of the strips..Love it! ♥

Pillar Engravings

There are different engravings on each pillar of the Kuan Yin Pavillion..Wonder if it is done on the pillar or they are glued on..? Cause from some angle..it doesnt look like it is engraved on the spot..LOLx..no idea..but it looks real nice,.I think it is handmade..love the lotus engraving..! ♥

Donation Coins in a Gold Bowl

There are 108 10cents coins in the gold bowl..and we paid RM11 for one bowl..its for donations to the Kek Lok Si Temple..For those who intend to donate..remember to return the bowl after your donations yea..=) LOLx..

Donation Ceremony

That's me an dear donating below the Goddess of Mercy..there are 108 bowls for us to fill the coins..I donated 54 bowls and my dear donated another 54 bowls..Since we are sharing for the donation..haha..but its kinda cool..walking around the Kuan Yin while dropping coins in the bowl..well at least I fulfilled some Feng Shui predictions which says dragons have to donate within the 15days of Chinese New Year to avoid financial problems..I never thought of it till the donation is done..LOLx..

Chinese Scriptures

LOLx..sorry no idea whats written on it as I dont read Chinese..but it looks huge.. see how tiny the people are standing below it..Perhaps those chinese engravings are prayers and words of wisdom..LOLx..just guessing..♥

They should have taken the construction steels away from the Pavillion for Chinese new year..looks so distracting beside it..I think they will paint the engravings on the pillars after Chinese New Year..

Forgive me for I have no knowledge of the name of the Gods..But I think the lanterns are really wonderful above them..and it makes them look magnificient..

This pagoda reminds me of the one at my Kindergarten(PBA), haha..cause there is one which looks alike at my kindergarten..the lightings from the lanterns are really complimenting the Pagoda..Im really attracted to those colourful lightings..♥

For those who drove all the way up to the Goddess of Mercy Statue, you can take the lift at the Gift Shop down to the Pagoda which will cost you RM2 for one-way and RM4 for two-ways..If Im not wrong the money collected will be donated to the Temple..

Took this two pictures before we left the Goddess of Mercy Pavillion..Been so long since I took a picture with my mum..hehe..Im glad to take one with her..Kinda difficult to take a good view of the Kuan Yin behind us..oh by the way..we used my Mum's N97 to take both pictures..

Hehe..thats me with the Piggy Twin Chair..there is actually another pig on the other side of the chair..purposely hold its head when Im taking the picture..haha..there are actually many other animals sculpture like ducks and dogs but there were too many people walking around and I couldnt take a nice picture of it..

Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

Queen Mary 2

I must say "WOW" to this..haha..the Majestic Queen Mary 2 sailed into town on the 5th of February 2010 and casted a shadow at the Penang Swettenham Pier,many motorclyclist stopped to enjoy the view of the Luxury Cruise Liner as they are awed by the beauty of the Ship..

QM2 arrived from Phuket and departed for Port Klang after 10 hours of docking at the Pier..She will also be making maiden port calls in Cairo, Phuket, Shanghai, Adelaide and Perth, Durban and Cape Town. QM2 set sailed from UK on the 4th of January on a 101 day Cruise..If Im not wrong..it cost around USD 250k for the 101 day trip..thats alot..but also cool..seems like you have a new home for 100days..LOLx..

The facilities in the Cruise includes 15 restuarants and bars, 5 swimming pools, A Casino, A ballroom, A Theatre and the First Planetarium at Sea..Musical Shows and Performance can be seen at the Royal Court Theatre and bookworms can also enjoy reading books at the huge library..wow..Library at Sea..

Although I have never visited the Queen Mary 2, this is one of the Cruise which I intend to visit someday..=) Enjoy the rest of the pictures..

Queen Mary 2 ( Deck and Cabin View)

A close up view of the decks and the name of the Ship i.e Queen Mary 2..They ought to have more lifeboats..LOLx..rememeber the Titanic..? haha..Im so bad..ahh..*touch wood*.. This is where the cabins are more expensive as they have a balcony and sea view..it is cool to rest at the balcony, having a drink and enjoying the view..ahhh...nice..

Today the Queen Mary 2 ranks third in terms on size compared to the 225,282 GT Oasis of the Seas which was done constructed late last year..Wow..Whats the second then..? Haha..will find out about it soon..QM2 made the history by being the largest cruise ship sailed to Malaysia in March 2007..Ooo...

Queen Mary 2 (Front-Side View)

This is how the front of the Cruise Ship looks like..*So Sharp*..LOLx..See the ropes hanging on the Ship to prevent it from floating away..? There are actually many ropes alongside holding the Ship firmly at the Port..

Queen Mary 2 (Slanting View)

Nice..took this picture from Georgetown,Penang. Like the way the sky compliments the Cruise Ship..its as if it is meant to be there forever..You can see this from the Marina or you can have lunch at QEII (Queen Elizabeth 2) to have the best view of it..I should have gone for it the other day..Ish..

Royal Court Theatre

A luxury theatere in the Cruise liner..looks like a living theater in UK or something..LOLx..its huge..this is those performers entertain guests on the Cruise Ship..remind of me the Arena of Stars in the Gemini Starcruise which I once board in 2001..but its not as big as this one..!

Hermes

Hermes is one of the luxury shops inside the Queen Mary 2..This is a high end brand..wonder if they have shops such as Versace, Giorgio Armani or Burberry? Haha..I think they do have a few of them..sigh..I just wish someday I will be shopping in such places instead of just shopping online of cheap shops..LOLx..

Brittania Restaurant

One of the luxury fine dining restaurant in the Cruise ship..it is located at the bottom of the sweeping staircase..MmmMmm..food..just imagine those juicy beef steaks..Yum..

According to The Star (hopefully info is correct), the Queen Mary 2 has a maximum speed of 29.62 knots..and a cruising speed of 26 knots..much faster than other passenger cruise ship INCLUDING the Oasis of the Seas..haha..Looks like that Oasis cant be the King in this one..apart from size..

Lounge

This is one of the lounge inside the luxury cruise liner..looks so comfortable the seats..maybe this is where you can sit down..and read your newspaper while enjoying a cup of coffee or cocktail and look at the view..wow..sounds like paradise..Can you imagine how many lounge they have..? This one is just one of them..and it looks so big..

Many superstars have visited this cruise and travelled on it before..for example the property tycoon Donald Trump, Rocker Bon Jovi, Rapper Jay-z and R&B singer Beyonce..wow...if I have the chance to go on board..that would made me feel like a superstar too..haha..

Here's a final picture of the Queen Mary 2 before departing Penang..Still cant get the thought of it out of my head..after two weeks..haha..somehow wishing I was there for a tour in the ship..I should thank them for building the new Port..or rather renovating it..and deepen the sea..else there wouldnt be so many cruise docking at our Port in Penang..

It is finally departing Penang..seriously looks so majestic from far...those tiny cruise ships couldnt be compared to this Queen Mary 2..seriously cant imagine how nice it would be to be in there..Too bad the weather is cloudy and rainy..else the picture would be nicer..

This is a picture of the Queen Mary leaving Penang from a Far View..look how tiny those ships around the Queen Mary..even some of those Cargo ships which are big ones looks so tiny..LOLx..talking about the King of the seas..! or at least at Penang..haha..since there is a bigger one now..which is the Oasis of the Seas..(wish someday I can be on it)..Well..even if I cant..at least I wanna go board this Queen Mary 2 someday in future..=)

Hot Air Balloon

Upon Arrival

Just arrived at Quayside, Its only available for one day which is on a Sunday(7/2/10) from 10am till 1pm and only limited rides available..hehe..so excited when I saw the hot air balloon..ran out of the car as soon as I can as I was so excited..Its my first time going on a Hot Air Balloon and might be the only time too..then we went to sign a Liability Form and took our number(6)..then off we go waiting for our turn..

Inside the Hot Air Balloon

The look at the top of the Hot Air Balloon where we are standing..this is where the gas is pump in to the balloon producing hot air which brings the balloon up to the air..

This is the look of the Hot Air Balloon from far..nice picture..thanks to the compliment of the trees below it..

On Air

This is my favourite picture out of all..Love the look of the sky on the back..as it makes the hot air balloon looks like a drawing eh..and the colour of the balloon suits the sky too..hehe..like a fantasy..LOLx..am I exaggerating..?

A View of Quayside

Can you tell we are on air now..? hehe..These are all the houses at Quayside area in Seri Tanjung Pinang,Tanjung Tokong..Actually the bungalows are really nice..and I think they are not cheap..and most of it are bought by foreigners..they have a new condominuim there..but no idea how it is like..as I only passed by..didnt really check it out..

About to leave the Quayside, Took a final picture of the hot air balloon..on purpose as well..as I like the view of the Hot Air Balloon being covered by the trees..its like it is hiding among it..
Glad I woke up early to catch a ride of the Hot Air Balloon..So happy..It was such a great experience and Who knows it might be the only time I get to be in a Hot Air Balloon..Hehe..!

Me and Dear

Just done with our dinner and now at the LION BAR..waiting for the show to start..We went on board the Amusement World last year in December after Christmas..but dont really remember the date..A very small Ship..which specializes in Casino for people to gamble the whole day and night..there is not much entertainment but for those who likes to gamble will like this Cruise..as for me..I was just there for leisure..haha..Its actually my second time on board..the first time I was Still underage..haha..but even when im 21 now..I still did not gamble at the Casino..Im good huh? LOLx..

Thats me and my dear on the first picture..took it when we first enter the LION BAR..as we have nothing to do..haha..but it was so dark..so the picture is not that clear too..then the one above it my friend..actually its my mum's friend's son..LOLx..long name..but I forgotton how to spell his name..funny kid..but rebelious..haha..turning 13 this year..but he said he cant wait to grow up..LOLx..and I wanna be young instead..

Standing beside the Christmas Tree..looking so sleepy..you must be wondering why I like to take pictures with christmas trees..haha..its because I like the christmas season..I should have gone to KL last year for the Christmas Season..

Both of us..took turns to take pictures at the Deck..I think this is the left side of the Ship..not sure..haha..but at night..its breezy and the air is cooling too..but its took dark to see anything..even the sea looks black in colour..haha..but you can still catch a glimpse of Penang Island..

This wine rack is placed at the entrance of LION BAR..Lots of choices for you to choose..and I like the picture of the cruise behind it..I think its a painting..

LOLx..its actually illegal for me to take this picture..if Im caught taking this picture and posting it here..then Im dead..haha..See that auntie sitting there..she won around 2k that night from the jackpot machine..haha..lucky..! too bad I cant take a picture of the Casino..

Elevator/Lift

This is how you travel up and down in the cruise..its the elevator..LOLx..doesnt look like an elevator right..? looks scary actually..its actually like the olden days style lift..which requires you to open the steel cage door and close it when you enter..and same goes when you leave the lift..its actually quite scary as the elevator is small and it produces weird sounds when moving..haha..so..take the stairs if you have no confidence in taking the lift..

This is the Restaurant which provides buffet when you board the Cruise..Everything is free and you can eat as much as you want..but if you are bored of the buffet then you can bring your own food too..haha..thats why my mum's friend did..I had my breakfast here too before leaving the Ship..had porridge and fried eggs for breakfast..LOLx..there are actually many other things to eat..

Mini Cabin

This is the cabin we stay at..Can fit up to three(3) persons per cabin..see the bed on the wall..? It can be unlocked and turn into a hanging bed..Nothing much to comment about the room..it was just average as there is nothing luxurious..every room is almost the same..even the most expensive ones like the suite..perhaps they have bigger bathrooms..haha..ours is just a mini bathroom where you cant move when you are bathing..LOLx..

Me

Taken with the Penang View behind me..if only it was brighter..haha..it was still dark at that time..I dont look sleepy right..? haha..cause I only slept for about more than an hour..Yawn..

Butterworth View

A view of Butterworth taken from the cruise..can you recognize the giraffe look-alike crane? That was around 7.30am..waiting for my mum's friend to wake up..We reached Penang at 7.45am..Tiring night..but also not bad..Enjoy your life to the fullest while you can..=) Although there is nothing much to do..hehe..
